KCON LA 2023 was an absolute whirlwind, and the excitement started the moment the three-day lineup dropped. Jenn and I immediately knew we had to be there. So many of our favorite K-pop artists in one place? And WAYV at a meet & greet? SM artists rarely do fan events, especially at KCON, so this felt like destiny. My heart was buzzing with excitement, and I could already feel the weekend would be unforgettable.
Lock-In its time
The day the tickets dropped — late May/early June — Jenn and I were ready. Six devices at the ready: two phones, two laptops, and two iPads, all set for the 12 PM PST release, even though we live on the East Coast. It was pure adrenaline. I snagged Day 1 tickets for us, Jenn secured Day 3, but by the time we got through, all lower-bowl seats were gone. Still, a win is a win, and we celebrated like champions before heading straight to Pilates class to calm down from the excitement.
We have to do this again
The meet & greet tickets were another story. Right after class, while sitting in Chick-fil-A, the tickets suddenly went live. We literally pulled over in the parking lot, hearts racing, fingers clicking, trying to get those elusive passes. I scored my WAYV meet & greet ticket, but Jenn didn’t get hers initially. Later that day, near our second Pilates class, ITZY meet & greet tickets popped up online, and Jenn snagged hers immediately. At this point, the weekend was officially secured, and the anticipation began to build.
Meanwhile, life outside KCON was just as hectic. Jenn and I were moving into our first apartment, starting Pilates teacher training, and juggling all the usual chaos of adult life. Somehow, amidst the stress, the excitement of KCON kept us going, and I couldn’t wait for the adventure to start.
