The moment finally arrived. We landed in LA and checked into our hotel, ready to dive into the K-pop chaos. Of course, I asked Jenn to paint a custom shirt for my WAYV meet & greet. She finished it at the last possible minute — and somehow also painted one for herself. Classic Jenn, and honestly, it was perfect.
Let’s K-Con
Day 1 at the LA Convention Center was intense. The line stretched endlessly, and the sun was scorching, but we held our ground. Once inside, I ran to the WAYV meet & greet line while Jenn stayed with me until security had to shoo her away. The hall was a sea of excited fans, everyone snapping photos and capturing every moment. And then, the miracle moment — Winwin was there! And when I finally reached Xiaojun, my ultimate bias, he noticed the shirt Jenn painted, smiled, and nodded at me. I left the room shaking, heart pounding, and Jenn confirmed it — I had officially lost it.
After the meet & greet, we explored the convention floor, grabbed some snacks from the food trucks, and got ready for the concert. Crypto.com Arena was buzzing with energy. The pre-show featured Kevin Woo, who instantly became a new favorite, and 8TURN brought incredible energy. Then WAYV opened the main show with the KCON theme song, and Jenn and I completely lost it.

Concert, please
The night continued with first-time live performances by NMIXX and IVE. The way I sang the lyrics to Love Dive you would think I wrote it. Plus NMIXX did the special stage witha Twice cover and who does not love hearing more Twice. Taeyong’s solo stage before enlistment was crazy I mean o one can NEO like him. The surprise Shownu x Hyungwon unit was everything. I mean when will I get to hear Love Me A Little and see Shownu chest bounce to Shoot-Out. Seeing WAYV with Win Win felt almost like a fever dream. The vocals were so on point like I was locked in on their whole performance. Plus it was a surprise that they opened the show up with the K-Con theme song (who knew they had one, not me). And finally, TAEMIN took the stage. The king of K-pop himself. Seeing a SHINee member live in the U.S. is rare, and it was nothing short of life-changing. When he first got on stage the crowd screamed for at least 3 mins straight and yes I was one of them. He did a medley of his classic hits and it was more than I could ever ask for. The first day concert was legendary and really set the tone for the next day.
